Mildenhall grass track u10 omnium
The opening event of the omnium was the 1 lap sprint, run in a heats format with top two to go to the final. In the first heat Mark Lightfoot just missed out on the final. The 2nd heat saw Joseph Hadsley just missed out on the final with Nathan Hardy qualifying for the final, in which he claimed 2nd .
The second event was the 2 lap sprint, again with heats and a final for the boys. In first heat Nathan finished 2nd to go through and be joined in the final by Mark Lightfoot from heat 2 with Joseph Hadsley narrowly missing qualification again. The 2 lap final was a repeat of the 1 lap event with Nathan finishing 2nd to Caelen Miller from East London Velo and Mark Lightfoot just outside the top 3.
After some riders had already completed 4 races, the 3rd omnium event was the Devil in which a large field saw 2 riders eliminated per lap. All CCA riders made it through to the final sprint which there were 5 riders to cut time. Nathan got 2nd, Mark got 4th,
Joseph got 5th after setting a lot of the early pace.
The 3 lap block handicap was the final omnium event which had the U10 boys and girls racing together for the first time during the afternoon. Nathan Hardy, Caelen Miller and the rider from Furness Flyers started from scratch and thanks to some good handicap setting by Max Pendleton, and exciting overtaking by the racers, most of the field finished close together with Nathan in 5th place just ahead of Mark and Joseph.
The final omnium results had Nathan Hardy 2nd and Mark Lightfoot 4th
