Saturday 6th September 9.30am club ride
OK, in homage to the Wells ride today, we will also do a flat ride tomorrow - although without the fish and chips, sea view and drunken train ride home !!

Ashwell-Everton-Yelling-Waresly-Potton-Edworth-Ashwell (41 miles; out via hinxworth/back via northfields)
Bonus points are on offer for spotting TomH on his tractor and the Northfields chase cup is up for grabs for anybody who can beat EmmaK to the end of Northfields road !

We could put Emma on the front for 40.8 miles to blunt her sprint!
See you in the morning
Although I might start the sprint early........
I believe there is a fish and chip shop in Papworth, not much of a detour...!
See you there
Nice pace for most of the ride, thanks to the sterling work done on the front by PeterT, Tim and Nathan. We wizzed up to Yelling and then most bizzarly two cars stopped on either side of the A428 to let us all cross. That never happens !!
All still civilised till we got to the Ashwell 4 sign at the top of the road and the after burners were lit. Clearly the kudos of the Northfields chase cup was more than I thought !! A brave challenge by EmmaK lead to nothing and it was a three horse race between MickG, Tim and Nathan. Think that Nathan just squeezed it on the line which is all the more impressive considering he had cycled 123 miles the day before!!
Thanks all for a great morning.
Any more excuses.............
Good lead out train for our sprinter. Rumours that David slowed it down were totally unfounded. The plotting worked to draw Emma out for an early sprint. No gardening next Friday! But, where was our sprinter? Good to see Tim and Nathan slug it out for the win.
Nice ginger beer back at the Tuns to discuss important outfit matters with kit!
See you next week.
The plan to draw Emma out early worked so well that I miscalculated and went too early myself - as someone said in the pub afterwards, that road has got to be the longest 4 miles in the world. Double kudos to Nathan for not only winning the sprint but coming out at all after the Wells ride.
