Saturday 20th September 9.30am club ride
Well yet another Saturday morning with a severe weather warning ! Do you think that the Met Office are trying to tell us something???
OK, assuming its not teeming down in the morning - we have two options:
1. Do a re-try of the map in the pocket ride out towards Milbrook/Ampthill (47 miles)
Ashwell-Marston Moretaine-Cotton End-Southhill-Ashwell

or
2. Another one for the flat-land aficionados out towards Cambridge (47 miles also):

or
3. Something more local with bad weather cutoffs

Lots to ponder ! See you in the morning

I did a reverse version of the Millbrook ride alone a few weeks ago.
Was quite fun.
After Ride London a bit of rain will be nothing.
We set out in murk, fog and some light rain and had murk, fog and light rain for most of the ride with a splash of heavy rain thrown in for good measure around little Gransden. Decided on option 4 which was to pretty much make it up as we went along, so up to Barrington, then Haslingfield, Bourn, Caxton and back via Shingey.
Some sterling riding by the two youngsters today, Matt and Sofie. Sofie even had enough left in the tank for the sprint into Ashwell !
So a grand total of 39 miles at 16.5. Thanks all for a jovial company on a miserable morning !
P.s. Found out when we got home that Emma had ridden for who knows how much of the ride with a broken chain link as it fell apart in my hands when I cleaned her bike! Said that it was 'clonking' a bit on the ride !!!
Didn't realise that the sprint started in Guilden!
