Saturday 4th October 9.30am club ride

edited October 2014 in Club runs
Oh surprise, surprise - its forecast to deluge down from about 11am tomorrow morning !! I wonder if the met office are tracking this odd phenomenon ?

So will probably decide on a route in the morning, probably something heading east or south...........or might just go out sunday when its dry !!!

  • Yeah not looking good at all for tomorrow, Sunday may well be the better option this time!

Ok, think the window of dry weather is too small this morning to get a decent length ride in so going to go out tomorrow instead.

Enjoy if you are out !!
  • A group of 12 gathered at the Tuns for today's ride. As there were no takers for Andrew's Intro ride he joined the club run. Considering the forecast of heavy rain later in the morning we elected for a swift 30 miler to beat the rain.

Out through Hinxworth and on to Sutton only to find the road closed. Despite optimistic views that we could get through it was not to be. Quick U-turn through Dunton and back on to Sutton. Up to Gamlingay and then onto Croydon at a brisk pace. The Royston crew and Matt peeled off home through Bassingbourn. The rest carried on turning into Steeple and on up towards the station. Dave went for an Emma like long sprint and bluffed me with tales of a hangover to take the sprint.

30 miles @ 17.7 mph. Nice and tidy. We beat the rain!

Thanks all, see you next week.
  • Glad you all stayed dry.......maybe it's my winter bike that's the rain talisman !!
  • Yup, the road between Sutton and Dunton will be closed for some time (possibly another three weeks). They are replacing a culvert that has given a lot of trouble over the years. The road just doesn't exist anymore!
