8am Saturday 25 October 80m

edited October 2014 in Club runs
After getting rid of my man flu (mild sore throat, sniffle and slight temperature) I'm up for an 80m route…
Prob the Geoff Denny clockwise saving the lumpy bits till last.

    Got it see you there.

    Strappy.
  • I'll be similar to Strappy if I'm running late, don't wait at the Tuns for me!
  • Cheers Robbie, enjoyed that :-)

a few more weeks and hopefully u won't all be waiting on them there hills for me!!!

Thank you for ur patience everyone!
  • 8 out this morning, plus a couple of miles with Mr Pendleton, by chance. Quick espresso stop with Mrs J Mac at Bourn, blessed with blue skies and sunshine of holiday-like proportions :)

I logged 73 miles at 17.6mph. Hilly section made for a tough finish and legs are v tired now, but it was a great ride

The only bit I didn't enjoy was riding the A505 on my own! Would have really appreciated a regroup at the end of the descent, so we could cross the dual carriageway together and ride those few hundred metres as a group. Much more visible and easier to get the respect of motorists that way. And perish the thought, but if anybody did get into trouble on that fast stretch of road, it'd mean that he/she would have help and witnesses on hand

Top ride teamsters! Yes agree Jane... we were rather broken up in ones and twos... lets stick together with a back light on. Can't have been better weather eh! No punctures eh Skelders!
  • Hi All,
Just wanted to thank all those who waited on the hills, especially Jane & Skelders. Was very aware that needed to be self sufficient so insisted that didn't wanted to hold up group any more.
I think the step up definitely challenged me, especially after 60 miles hitting the hills.
Took another stop in Royston at Costa, and then braved the A505. Probably need to invest in a decent Garmin as don't think the drivers appreciated a knackered cyclist meandering a little.
Anyway, loved the cafe stop and the first 60, and will definitely try the 8.00 again when feeling in slightly better condition than today.
  • Pete, you were and are v welcome. I didn't realise you didn't know the way home from Reed, else we definitely wouldn't have let you fend for yourself

Agree that Royston is great for a nearly-home caffeine boost - I've done that myself a few times! Bit of people-watching, soak up some rays etc. If there is a next time, I'll take that extra stop with you
  • Pete, ditto Jane's comments... to clarify though.... I wasn't waiting... I was hurting too haha ;-)
