Another 2nd cat and more end of season news.

edited October 2014 in Road Racing
In the least surprising news since Theo Doncaster went to university and gained the nickname "Mum", word reaches us that Tom Trimble grabbed just enough points today with a 5th place at Hillingdon in the 3rd cat race to get his 2nd cat licence.

Bridging across to a break of 3 riders who had 30 seconds on the bunch, Tom and 2 others worked well with the break to stay away to the end. All he needed was 5th place, so a perfectly placed sprint got him the points he needed.

The end of the season has been great for Tom, who had a couple of very close 2nd places in the King's Lynn CC RR and the Maldon and District CC RR over the last few weeks. With form like this there'll be a win for him before the season ends if he carries on racing.

As for next season, he'll be knocking out an 18 minute 10 and some very good placings in the Regional As and National Bs!

Looking forward to having a few more strong racers in blue for next season. This year CCA finished 5th in the ERRL league club standings, with Anthony Morris just being pipped to 1st place in the rider standings by Andy Lyons of Richardsons-Trek (hugely experienced/very thin/enormously thighed ex GB/BMC UK/Orbea rider).

With a couple of new recruits coming in to race in blue next season (there's always room for more if anybody wants to give it a go, there's usually an experienced racer out on the club runs somewhere, have a word if you're interested) it looks like 2015 will be a good year for us!
