Starting a bit early here at work - with a kindly presented birthday bottle of "St Martinus" from work colleagues. Funny: I don't remember that abbey visit on our club rides through Flanders...
Tastes a lot like Westmalle.
Forgot the blooming pig mask!!! D'oh! Can someone stop off at a pig mask shop?
Good to catch up with you, put some names to faces. I was tempted to join you for a meal and chat some more, but I want a ride in the mid-morning and I foresaw the beer goggles getting an outing if I lingered!
Thanks Martin. A great evening. I'm sorry I couldn't do the afternoon as well. My memory of leaving the restaurant, and the taxi, is a bit hazy and I can't remember paying (!) so if I owe anyone please whisper me.
Martin, your organisation was spot on. Really enjoyed it. A few good ride ideas popped up for the future... Manchester beer festival, Look Mum No Hands club ride, RIde to the Atlantic..... and of course the superb 3 Cafe's.
I owe you for the mug, Martin. Whisper me your bank details...
Thanks everyone. A reet good festive afternoon and evening. What a good bunch. We ended up with quite a crowd in t'curry house. Probably a format to repeat in 2015. Maybe minus one venue to make it more manageable.
That lowlander is a good bar. Am pleased with my Condor purchase too. Can of Teflon lube. Merry Christmas to me.
Found a lot of cash in my pocket this morning. I'm assuming this is all mug purchases. If anyone needs change let me know. I'll be at the club night tues 6th Jan. I'll bring the rest of the Ride Of The 3 Caf
My only video on the trip around GB. You can tell, I think. My first and only YouTube upload.
Recorded the climb on Strava - look at the contours! 2,000ft in 6 miles. Middle cog up to 4.4 miles, then I crest the shoulder and it's only then that you see the task ahead!
- Makes me regret not seeing a dental hygienist more regularly!
If you want a plethora of challenging hill climbs, try the NY Moors, Strava again on The Chimney.. I found some corkers, 25-30% all on the Eastern edge, some not even mentioned in the Hallowed Top 100.
