Jane suggested Bedfordshire....
Any ideas which way we may go?

  • What about this?

It's the BedsRCC reliability ride route we could pick up the route near Southill.

How about the “classic” Circuit de Bedford route - Newton Blossomville, Turvey, Thurleigh etc – that we can extend with Risely and Kimbolton that takes it up to 84miles (same route we did in june) with a stop at Harold Country Park (38 miles) for coffee etc (June stats were 19.3mph avg…..)....takes in most of the BedsRCC Reliability route
  • Sounds good to me (except for the 19.3mph bit, which surely translates into 17s for November)

Neil's coming too ... if he can escape the duvet and unless the vicar talks him out of it. My fingers are crossed
  • Sounds like a plan Stan.
  • I'll come out for a little pootle but will have to drop off and head back at some point. Matinee day for me!
  • Not out this weekend...family 'do' at Woburn Centre Parcs. Really enjoyed last weeks ride so think of me as you chase that 19mph!!!!!
  • Good plan and will definitely be out for the full route.

Suggest everyone brings a rain jacket - looks like it might be a bit aqueous on Saturday.
  • Phil… what's the hills situation like on this one? Thinking fixed and don't wanna knacker me knees (and ass).

    not as much as last week - would summarise as;

    - rough downhill into houghton conquest
    - cheeky little lump as you go into millbrook
    - long draggy one up to cranfield
    - all flat enough between there and risely
    - steep'ish (un-catagorised) after the left turn to kimbolton
    - that very short surprise when you turn off the main road towards grafham

i think 19.3 avg in june "captures" the hill situation....no need for polka dots!!!
  • Phew - just got my Winter wheels reshod after trying to replace the stock rim tapes with Velox tape. Seems like my 5 years off the bike has not been good for the quality of the Velox product. Simply doesn't stick to alloy rims. Thankfully Wiggle delivered some nice Continental tapes in time for Saturday.

    Stay away from Velox.
  • I am off work again so will be joining you for this one let me know what way your going
probably meet you on route if not at the tuns.

Really enjoyed the ride and company today. Oddly found the route harder than last week's GD100.

I had 83 miles at dead on 18mph average. Many thanks to uber Rouleurs Phil and Robbie for pulling into the wind for the last 20.

Got pre-Christmas family stuff next weekend so see you in 2 weeks.

We missed you Skelders - hope you had fun with the family.
  • Another top gritty autumnal legg sapping ride! More!!!
