This mornings ride can be summarised in 4 words

    Mud
    Mud
    Mud
    & Mud

10 clean cyclists started off in the murky conditions this morning for sort of the route above. Mudguards did their job until about Cromer then the mud bath started. Hard to decide if Oli or Emma were the worst for spray but it was best just to try and avoid being behind either of them (which Nathan didn't)

More mud, leaves, gravel etc to Dane end for an excellent mid ride coffee stop at Jenny and Dave's (thanks guys). Recharged we tackled wood end and Ardley before a return via slip end for the traditional wind up to the 505. Jez went for a long one, very long indeed so was overhauled by the TT experts Emma and DaveW with Dave winning the sprint.

So the final very dirty stats were 35 mile @ 15. Thanks all for a great morning.

Nay, it wasn't that bad! Mudguards to be ordered for the Watts bicicycles this weekend, though... Great to be out cycling again after three weekends of running and thanks for patience with my puncture, and for the coffee, and all else that makes these such great rides.

  • Great ride, route and company despite the filthy roads - thanks Dave.

Olly you want to ask Santa for a copy of Micheal Jackson's 'Great Beers of Belgium', still the best guide.
  • I understand that Hertfordshire has been reported missing this evening. Perhaps we could return it after we've scraped it off our bikes...
Thanks for a good ride, David, and the coffee was very welcome!
  • Brilliant ride, thanks all. We'll try to have some cakes ready next time!
