Nathan, glad you got home ok on a much shorter chain than was necessary. My brain was in a fog from blasting into that headwind. Jeremy and Phil, excellent ride but a real tester. Managed to convince the family to have a chilled afternoon, which disguised the fact that I was totally shattered.

Good effort from you blokes today, that wind was a monster and the roads were full of debris, flints and water. As posted above, I cheated and did a straight run from Hitchin to Downham Mkt and took the train back into the wind! Wouldn't fancy trying to ride in a group with that wind trying to wrestle the handlebars away from you. My back and shoulders are sore from the effort of gripping the bars today in the windswept Fens! A few more miles and will start getting some rides with you, in preparation for Paris Nice.
