Good tip Shelton. Another tip is to use cyclocross forks; only improves the front wheel clearance of course. Easiest with 1 1 /8" headset bearings as the fork exchange will be simple. The cantilever pins can often be removed, certainly on composite forks, which would be required for racing I think.
