Sounds good as long as we can roll in nettles and get a healthy dose of self-flagellation at the coffee stop.

Thinking Summer bike this weekend. I'm getting a craving for Carbon......
  • It's March! Time for Robbie to take those mudguards off...
  • Oh gawd. Now I really do stand no chance of keeping up with you

Sounds great, is this a 8am 3T departure?

    edit:

Doh, just read the thread title :D
  • I seem to have recovered from last weeks kicking. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all that..

Apparently spring will have arrived by the time we set off at 8am :)
  • Who's put the sun out! Was ironing me short sleeved top....
  • I have family stuff this weekend. Will see if I can wake Martin for an early bird 50miles. 6am to 9am.
Last week was tough. I certainly over cooked the first half and my lack of miles showed up chisel. Jeremy thanks for nursing me home. The mind was strong but the legs deserted me. I only averaged 15mph last Saturday. Jere,y what was your average? It felt more like 18.5-19mph ave.
Have a good one. Weather is looking good.
  • Cider is paleo friendly.
  • Vince - I had 16.6mph average for last weekend off of Strava. Must admit I suffered badly last Saturday feeling very jet-lagged. Feeling much better for this weekend!

Feeling excited about tomorrow - Summer bike, Gabba Jersey, sunshine, coffee and hills!
  • Brandy is also paleo friendly.
  • Btw... we will be riding Langford Henlow if any want to meet on the way.
  • Will meet in Ashwell as I invited a colleague who is a very keen cyclist to join us.

Hopefully we'll get a good number out tomorrow.
  • I'll be up for joining you early birds this week. Will meet you as you pass through Langford if thats ok?
  • Top day for a great ride chaps. Lots of climbing... lots laughs..
Hexton, two Sundons, old Knobworth and then the Therfield M. Bring on Spring!
  • What stats did you get for that lot?
    80 miles, 1400m climbing?
  • Top day thanks for the route Robbie, and thanks for sorting the weather too. Loved the Sundon double loop - a classics feel for sure.

I have 108.7 miles with 5951 ft ascent Jane, but that includes 22 miles to and from Ashwell.

Just checked.... Ashwell to Ashwell just about 88m at 17mph ave. must say... hamstring cramp during the final therfield climb. Chapeau to Andy and John on the M hills!

Thanks for a great route Robbie. Despite missing the M - still had 84miles on the clock at 17mph and nearly 4500ft climbing. Great day and fast group. Poor preparation for me - wrong clothes and came out without enough nutrition products for such a demanding ride.

Blew up spectacularly on the way home to Langford - had to have an emergency pint of coke at the pub in Hinxworth!

Thanks for looking after my friend Andy after the group split at Walington.
  • Nasty. No doubt about it
  • Great ride, loved it! Plenty of punch, pace, elevation and sunshine! Cheers.
