    Yo Ho Buccaneers

    Should be out tomorrow.

Lovely wind-assisted solo ride today in the sunshine. 40 miles @ 17.5mph. Was 18.5mph average to Duxford....Then realised just how much I'd been helped by the breeze...shattering brief illusions of gathering form!! Lovely weather though...first outing for months without shoe covers or thermals. Fantastic.

Hitchin Baldock Ashwell Melbourne Fowlmere Duxford Whittlesford Newton Foxton. Train home £3!

    Yo Ho ye swabs

    Missed the Black Pig today.

Tried riding in the opposite direction and hoped to meet up, but alas, so kept going on an anticlockwise loop.

Hitchin Henlow, Campton, Gravenhursts, Gobion, Hexton, Whitwell, Codicote, Woolmer Green, Datchworth, Walkern. Bennington, Halls Green, Gravely, Hitchin.

Garmin stats: 50 miles @16mph, 2250ft climbing, 1600 cals. Good training into the breeze, steady up Hexton Hill.

    See you all soon

    The solo Dutchman

    Ahoy the Dutchman

Sorry we missed you, usual route out to Preston
But strong head wind and one of the crew struggling after illness
We where maybe just too late, did keep an eye out for you.

Good ride with Nasty Nick putting in lots of climbs between Preston and Hexton.
Blown back in time to miss the showers
About 45 miles and 15-16 ave, did not check the stats.
So more work than normal with spring in the air
Spanish kit out to mark the occasion

    More again next week
    Let the ascent begin

  • PS Nick moving from 3 eggs to 4 next week for breakfast
    Beware the beast cometh

  • Yo Ho Cap'n and Buccaneers

I went straight on from Hexton to Codicote, through Lilley and Whitwell, so No Nonsense Nick must have taken you into the hills off the valley, Breachwood Green or somewhere like that. Good work from the Eggman. Must be some variation on Paleo?

Don't forget Friday night is the Tour of Turkey with plenty of Turkish Delight. And no, we don't want to see any beer belly dancing!

    The Flailing Ottoman
  • Lots of egg Nick took us down the back lanes
As many hills as he could find cockernhoe etc
Not too sure, but mainly up

Probably go for the 3 B's route next week
Guaranteed to make you use a B word

    See you Friday,
No exposure order of the day

  • I reckon NN Nick has been putting in a lot of secret training, in addition to the eggscellent diet he's on.

He's been frying up those hills, leaving us scrambling behind. Did he poach the sprint?

    Frying Dutchman
  • He had a cracking ride
Have to find the feed those chickens are having
    All sunny side up
    Eggistentialism wins the day

    CP
  • The yolk will be on you climbing those Andalusian mountains with Nick setting the pace.

Your head will be soft boiled in that heat. Or perhaps more like a Spanish omlette.

    FD
  • Yeah, there is no flat there
    Will be cracking

    Eggstatic CP
  • Be careful not to be shelled out the back

The pace is eggspected to be fast....akin to an egg and spoon race!

    FD
  • As No Nonsense Nick the Eggman is coming along on Friday, will that be a Fried Turkish Delight?!

    FD
  • Rain not due until 1000 so 30 mins in the dry heading east hope to see more crew
