Saturday 11th April 9.30am club ride

edited April 2015 in Club runs
Can you believe it ! Once again it's lovely on Friday and duff on Sat morning. I think that we are being cursed by the god of muc off !!

Anyway, west is best tomorrow so lets head towards the sunshine and go with the general theme for the weekend of 'hills'

Bit of a variation on this route below, so Sundon instead of Sharpenhoe and back from Baldock via Wallington.

keeping an eye on the forecast and might go for a 10am start to avoid the worst of the rain.........

  • I'll be there.

How can it possibly turn so wet and windy after a beautiful day like today?
Late start sounds like a gd idea. (As does a pedalo. With a sail)
Or perhaps everything will look much brighter in the morning ...
  • Last minute change of plan.
    I won't be there
    Have fun
  • Ok, I give up !! Don't fancy an hour of heavy rain so I'm going to give it a miss this morning.

Going to go out this afternoon in the sun on my nice bike !!

    Enjoy if you are out.
  • R u guys coming through Langfrd, and if so what time roughly?
  • Not sure Pete. Depends if anybody is out and where they are going to go.
  • We'll still be out this morning...not sure about our navigating skills though!
  • No rain yet in Ashwell.. I will risk it with a navigation out west and back
  • Gd idea to head west or NW. That'll get you through the rain band faster and then :) you'll get blown home. Enjoy
  • Forgive my poor geography. Is West coming towards Langford?

What time is it? Still 9.30 or 10.00?
  • Great ride this morning, all the better for some bracing gales, rain and hail (although I was sheltered nicely behind the others!) Jez led a great route up Sharpenhoe Clappers and we got blown at a very swift pace from Lilley to Whitwell with the sun on our smiling faces. Made it back to Ashwell in a few different groups, I'm sure all pleased to see the welcome sight of the Ashwell spire. We made it 45 miles at 15.5 ish. Thanks team for the work on the front of the group!
  • Well at least we maintained our hardcore credentials that David sadly threw out of the window this morning...was deceptively hard work for 44 miles tho and Dave cheated by leaving his Garmin on in the drive home...uping his average considerably ????
  • Well David ...... We all hope you enjoyed your lay in the morning whilst the 6 of us battled our way to Sharpenhoe in a head wind with rain. Thanks Jez for being our substitute navigator for the ride.
  • Enjoyed both the lazy morning & the lovely ride in the afternoon sunshine :)

Good job from the 6 of you, gold stars all round !!
