  • Ahoy

    2.30pm today still on.
I have a groggy head, so see how we go
    Probably North into the wind
    35 to 40 miles, 16 mph

    See ya
  • Good to get some air
7 out for 32 miles at 16 mph
    Back to normal next week
09.30 start and yet more hills

    Good fun

  • Yo Ho

That's the sort of ride I need after a couple of weeks off the bike in Florida.

Steady, fat-burning rides with NO hills, to get rid of the non-Paleo, non-Atkins, non-athlete's cheeseburgers and beer diet...all that earlier weight loss approach and training gone to pot! Oh well...

Been awake now for nearly 36 hours...now my stamina is improving, feeling in need of some longer, steadier rides!

  • Glad to hear the training plan went well
Dedication required to eat and drink that much.

Next Sunday last one before Spanish ascent
    Hence mountains of hills needed
Pain is only weakness leaving the body
Go cold turkey, have a cold sweat ,become hot stuff
    All in one ride :-)

    See you soon

  • I was eating those burgers as if they were Roubaix cobbles....and as for those isotonic craft ales....!!

Unsteady and desperately slow on the Brompton this morning....back tyre felt as fat and slack as the one around my waist!

Depending on work/jet lag may ride around the chain gang route tonight...but the other way and no intention of joining the group.

May see you Sunday, if you're heading south towards Preston, will join from Willian/Wymondley.

  • Drop into mine after tonight if you like
It is dark when we finish though
    You will need lights
    If not hopefully Sunday
    Cheers
  • Have left London early tonight (just 9 hours today) so can shirk with the best of them.

Leaving Ashwell around 6.30ish to get a couple of steady evening sunshine hours in.

What time does chaingang finish, as might have left for home by then?

  • Hi John

    Good to have you back

My Garmin said we finished at 7.30 but i am sure it lied about my heart rate although i hope so

  • Hi Pete

Thought you started at 7.30 - did you finish at 8.30?

Seems right for 18miles for 2 circuits plus back to & from Ashwell.
