  • I wont be there this week... will be whizzing round the South Downs on my todd while better half completes some training for her marathon walk...

Dare I say it, I have mapped a route out and will be following my Garmin!! so if I dont report back , please send a search party !

    what could go wrong... right??
  • Remember this route from early March - an absolute beasting and probably the hardest ride I've done with CCA.

Had to have an emergency pint of full fat coke at the pub in Hinxworth on the way back to Langford!

Presume you'll head out through Langford? Would like to meet by the Water tower if yes.
  • Water tower... cool

  • See you at 8 o'clock
  • Should be there at 8:00 legs still feel a bit dead from Mjorky though so bear with
  • Hope you to join you for at least the first half, maybe all depending on time. Will see you at the water tower.

  • Hi All
Lost you just before lap 2 of Sundon. Think I took too long with refuelling with a gel after the last hill on Lap 1, and just couldn't make the ground back up. Was great while it lasted.
On the up side, I did get to Tri Sports instead and just caught a "bike cleaning" tutorial, and invested in a new Bonty seat (Bonus visit).
Look forward to lasting a little longer next time. That head wind on the route back was interesting.
  • That was a good one. Battered now after spending 4hours building a shed! Lots of climbing today... Hexton, Sundon loop twice- Topped off with the M. Stats say 1600 metres climbing over 88miles. Not quite Yorkshire... but good average of 18mph.
  • Robbie - I think you've defined the ultimate Herts hillfest with that route. Really enjoyed the ride and company. Oddly I found the previous weeks ride in the flatlands of Northants/Beds much harder.

Not out next weekend. See you at the Etape du Dales.
  • cheers chaps - enjoyed that - the last leg of the M; with the bloke running ahead of us that i couldn't catch kind of says it all.....

good mileage, good climbing, good average speed and of course great company....
  • I know you were all worried ;-) but the garmin just about worked... managed to devise a pretty good route - 80 miles 4500ft of climbing! one climb was 1 mile long, average 10% ouch!
