Summer G Ride - Sunday 21st June

edited May 2015 in Club runs
Hi all,

For all you who missed out on the Spring Classic, I will be running a Summer G Ride on the 21st June. (And for those who enjoyed the first version!)

9am at the Tuns.

Approx 65 miles. Lunch stop at Ardeley. Probably 6 - 7 hours including lunch and puncture fixing.

Clockwise route but still including many of the Classic sections and a couple of new finds. Final route will be released in a couple of weeks.

If we have more than 10 riders we will split into 2 groups to cut down on puncture waiting time.

Mark.

  • Thanks Mark! Two groups if more than 10 is very sensible.
  • Wouldn't miss it for the world! I better get some miles in before then!!
  • Clockwise should be interesting, downhill on the Dassels berg will be an experience. Count me in!

  • Just bringing this back to the top as a reminder.

Expecting a couple of Pell's as well.
  • I'm not going to be able to do this now. I've conceded to the pressure of not going out on a ride on Father's Day on my own, so I will be doing the Baldock Cycle Challenge with Joseph.

    Have fun.
  • Might be out - won't know till Saturday afternoon though

    What tyres - 25mm 4-seasons OK?
  • Those should be fine Andrew.
  • Right I think the updated list is

    Mark
    Stevie
    Nathaniel
    Daniel
    Pete G
    Theo
    Noah
    Shelton
    Travis

    Possibly Andrew.

Weather forecast looking better for Sunday than tomorrow but might be a few puddles!
  • really sorry Mark/people
I'm being picked up at 11 to go to Beaumont or something like that. Only just got told.
was looking forward to the ride!

*not going to work now because of really bad cold. shame looks like it will be proper g ride weather!
  • Thanks for organising this Mark. Noah really enjoyed his longest ever ride. He is a bit tired now.

Well done to all. And no punctures :-)
  • Great route Mark, thank you. I enjoyed the cornfield!

    Incredible puncture record.
  • No punctures?!?

That is truly incredible after April's ride. Hopefully you were able to recreate the spring classic vibe after Saturday's rain. Wish I could have joined you.
  • Cheers Mark for arranging this. I very much enjoyed the ride and route; I had no idea that a road bike would be able to cope with that level of punishment.

Btw - Well done to Noah on his longest ride. Judging by how well he went at this evening's chain gang he recovered pretty well - impressed!
