Maldon 50 report
Rode the Maldon 50 yesterday, did 2.01.29 for joint 8th place.
It was on the E21/50 course near the Essex coast, it's a near-3 lap course which is great for seeing lots of other riders. Twisty in places so plenty to keep it interesting. Good morning for it, favourable wind and warm, not bad for a 7am start.
I didn't pace it well, went off to hard on the first lap and couldn't hold that effort all the way through. 50's are so different to a 25, having to consider effort and nutrition, but which also makes them satisfying to ride. Plenty to learn
