Ride the Olympic Velodrome - Sunday 27th September 12-3pm
Great news! We have managed to secure another session at the Olympic Velodrome.
So here's your chance to ride the boards where so many gold medals have been won. AND where Bradley Wiggins recently achieved the world 1 hour record
This session is open to all CCA members 12 and over, no previous track experience is necessary and training will be provided on the day - though a couple of grass track sessions to get used to riding fixed would be helpful.
Cost should be around £24 per head which includes coaching. Bike hire is an additional £10 and shoes £6 for the session.
If you would like to ride please sign up HERE, we have space for 30 riders and it's first come first served.
Please note we will have to pay the full hire charge in advance, so if you sign up you are committing to pay your share (approx £24).

I have ridden London once before but I will probably go into the novice category as I'm sure you will have a lot of strong experienced track specialists there.
Cheers
Scott.
Not sure if you are aware but there is an Etape cycling event at the venue on this day, I'm guessing this might cause some transport issues and parking in particular?
Info here - http://humanrace.co.uk/events/cycling/letape-london
Cheers
Scott.
I'll talk to the centre and find what the access arrangements are.
The venue is relatively well served by public transport and there is also ample parking at Westfield so we will be fine - just may need to leave a bit more time.

Andrew
Put my name down on the doodle as no 32
I guess a couple of people will drop out? I will need to hire a bike. Not sure what size because I think I want to try a smaller one than I used before.
Thanks again for organising
Cheers
edit: I will just work to it as last minute notice,
I'm happy for Nathaniel to have my place. Please confirm if this ok. Thanks.
I'm afraid I need to drop out too as there is a Cyclocross race on the same day.
Apologies
Scott.
I have seen this too late but added Sam Daniels to the list in case anyone else drops out.
Pete
Nathaniel and Sam Daniels plenty of room for you and if anyone else would like to join then we probably have room for a couple more.
I'll put a new post up later to finalise numbers and kit requirements
Thanks for that. Sam will be pleased.
Peter
happy to pay anyway if we end up short.
They expect significant congestion due to L'Etape London - though the last riders should be away by 9.30
Train is a good option or leaving significantly longer time and travelling by car.
Parking is available at Westfield in the event that the VeloPark car park is full or inaccessible on the day.
I will post about bike details and final confirmations later today.
See you on Sunday
Andrew
Do we need to book bikes/ pay in advance or sort it all out when we get there?
Pete

Alan
Given that people are dropping out is there space for one more on this session? I would bring my own bike.
Cheers,
Bryn
There is space for more on the session however this time we do need people to be members as Lee Valley have caught commercial organisations selling on these sessions - when they are intended for volunteer run organisations (Second Claim would be fine)
Regards
Andrew
I am currently a second claim member of CCA so no problems here. I have added myself to the list.
Best, Bryn
Absolutely no experience necessary.
