Andy Firstly Trikes aren't that easy to ride as 1 would think, I ride a racing trike they are a handful on cornering unless you opt for a twin wheel drive with a diff as most trikes are 1 wheel drive also climbing on to them is hard so I would suggest a step through frame. ebay would be worth a try search under racing trikes and adult trikes such brands as Bob Jackson, George Longstaff, Higgins and Ken Rogers are the best brands, Geoff Booker at Tri kit builds new machines but also does a trike conversion kit. A dear friend of mine Fergus Muir has a few contacts with in the Tricycle association, he might be able to help you and you can message him via FB.
Great idea Andy. Max Pendleton knows most of the trike riders in eastern region as they turn up to his Mildenhall bash and race them. Suggest you take yourself to the cycling/racing weekend end of August and chat to them. Bound to be someone there who can sort it. I'm sure he would welcome the trip and try out a few to see how it feels.
