Soggy Solo 'Summer' Seventy
Couldn't get out in the storm yesterday so did 2 hours on the turbo - while twice watching the 3LC DVD 'Climbing' with Peter Kennaugh
Then waited this morning for the remnants of yesterday's deluge to pass by....
....still drizzling at 10am, so decided to go out anyway, but on the steel winter bike with full mudguards.
Hitchin Henlow Cardington Blunham St Neots Abbotsley Caxton Bourn (cafe stop for warming Coffee) Longstowe Hatleys Steeple Ashwell Baldock Willian Hitchin.
70 miles @ a sedate 15.5mph, nearly 4 1/2 hours in the saddle with heavy drizzle/rain the entire route. Had to take off my clear 'sun' glasses as couldn't see where I was going. Plenty of debris and gravel washed into the roads from last nights downpour and mud everywhere from harvest tractors.
From 36C in Greece to this...from Zorba the Dutchman to Absorbent the Dutchman!
I enjoyed it immensely - love my bike!

I feel it in my toes
Love is all around me
And so the feeling grows
It's written on the wind
It's everywhere I go, oh yes it is
Wet, wet, wet

No poetry on here please, Cap'n
I hope you've not been on the grog?
You wouldn't find me absorbing a few alcoholic beverages on a Friday night
