See you Saturday - like the 3cafes idea....cake!!!
  • Had been thinking of a taper with shorter rides over the weekend but like the idea of the 3 cafes - good day out on bike with cake.

    See you at the Tuns.

Will try and make this ride, or at least part of it - perhaps join en route around Barkway/Nuthampstead road c. 8.35-40ish
  • I'll be there
  • I saw Mandy at Maglia Rosso today. They have the Mildenhall Festival audax calling in on Saturday.

She suggested you phone your lunch order in advance. It might speed things up for you.

    Have a good ride.

Beans on toast - 2 slices for me. Do you plan to phone through our collective order?
  • If you plan on stopping at Saffron: Bicicletta is the stop to make.

Assuming you're going anti-clockwise? Blue Egg way first? Will try and bump into you all in the morning, from the sunrise ride.
  • Hi All,

Is it likely to be closer to 3 or 4pm finish back at Ashwell?
  • edited August 2015
    9:55 Blue Egg 33 miles
12:00 Rosso Maglia 60 miles ... then we might get a bit of a headwind, so ...
    2:45 Bicicletta 94 miles
4:30 Ashwell 117 miles ... or earlier if somebody lights the fuse under our super-fit Paris-Nicers ... and/or caf
  • Thanks Jane,

Just got to try and sell that now without getting injured!!
  • Hey Jane, not all Paris-Nicers are super fit...please don't light the fuse, please don't light the fuse!!
  • There should be a "like" feature John :)
  • wish I were down for this one...have a good ride.
I'm doing a hilly 7000ft 60 miler on Saturday and a 108 mile "flat" 4500ft ride on Sunday and that's my last before P/N. Might tuck a couple of spins when down next week just to keep the legs alive. :-)
  • Thanks All, that was brilliant. Special thx to Martin and Martin for navigating and for creating the route

Possibly the last time I'll see you before Paris-Nice, so here's wishing you good luck and a great hols. Go conquer!
  • Thanks all for another great ride. Hope everyone got home dry. I managed to puncture 1/2 a mile from home but didn't let this ruin my end of ride good mood :)
  • Good riding everyone. Paris-Nice riders are ready!
  • I really enjoyed myself today: great company, lovely route, smashing cafes.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone and the tow. Shaun, Phil and Martin looking v strong.

Slightly cooked legs towards Barkway, so glad I'd parked up there earlier!

96 miles for me @ 17.7mph, all good for Paris Nice next week.

Thanks again for a great day.

I had 131 miles today at nearly 18mph average. Felt really comfortable all day and fully recovered from Scotland. Shaun and MC super strong at the end - all bodes well.

Paris Nice - bring it on.
