CX National trophy Round 1 Southampton
A break from the eastern league for some members of CCA who travelled down to Southampton for round 1 of the National trophy series. A good turn out across the categories and a first visit for most at this course.
The weather was dry and warm at times which made for mostly firm going. The main difficulty was a steep bank which developed a large collection of ruts at the bottom which meant you had to choose your line carefully and hit it at speed to get up it. It was dry enough to make pit crew redundant although still had to be there for mechanicals.

John Polak was racing in his new club colours but I think is still second claim for CCA. He came 33rd in the V40-49 cat which he was pleased with.
