weather far better than forecast, 8 riders out for a spin around south cambs, shepreth, fowlmere, thriplow, foxton, barrington etc lots of mutterings as we approached ashwell "winter not the time for sprints", "steady", "wind it down at the end of the ride", but in the end sam couldnt resist and bagged it at the cost of a broken spoke. disappointment for 2nd placed mark c making a guest appearance and clearly taken in by the "no sprint" mutterings. thats constable not cavendish by the way. no sign of him today but sure cav will be out next week now hes a friend of the club...

How times change, but the result is the same.I can remember Bob doing all the muttering about ease down and then putting the hammer down for the sprint...or the rule is we ALL freewheel down the hills to see who wins the freewheel and then when we are all committed Bob putting it into 53/11 and hammering past.
Good on you Sam...looks like the CAV wannabe is hotting up!!!!!!!!!
