Ahoy cross dressers

Go for 10 am start on mountain bikes for safety
Will still be on the road
Go for 1.5 hours 2 max depending how we feel
Nice and steady
Cross bikes etc ok, but no road bikes please, we will be too slow for that

So get some air and be safe

40 mile solo road today from Hitchin through the lanes to Jamie's Flamme Rouge in Bedford.

Very impressive set up you have there Jamie, hoping to get the Sunday lot over for a cafe stop later in the year.

A warm welcome, tour of the premises, excellent coffee and flapjack to ward off the cold and then home again via Cardington, Cople, Old Warden.

Some dicey parts on the road from Old Warden towards Cardington on the outward journey, but mostly melted with the late morning/early afternoon sunshine. Warm enough once you got going. Rule #5 and all that.

Good to get out after being cooped up in the office all week.
  • I'll be there on the orange Cotic 'crosser.

The Forth Road Bridge on Wheels.

    The Irn Bru of bikes.

35llbs of leaden, no nonsense, unresponsive gas pipes....
  • Mountain bikes are GO
    five, four, three,

  • Fantastic four demonstrated their super powers
    Cross and mountain on display
The torch was a bit blue
And the invisible man stayed on the back
But good fun for 1.5 hours

Roads where actually in good order, lots of gritting
    See you again next week

  • Enjoyed that. Good recovery ride after yesterday's efforts.

18 miles at just over 13mph. Roads clear of snow and ice.

Coffee and cake at RR's afterwards. Lovely.
  • Did you turbo pm
...... Or on the wine ?
    Training under way

    RR
  • Nope, had a kip on the sofa instead....

....'recovery' drinking now, after recovery ride earlier.

Learning to 'stress test' my body for France. Salut!
  • Fair enough
    Enjoy !
  • Certainly felt 'stressed' this morning after heavy super compensation training!
