How about this for tomorrow morning's spin?

Definitely not going anywhere near North-foul road either - isn't any sort of bacon flap that will make that road usable anytime soon !!

Alternatively, if anybody has a different route that they would like to guest navigate, pop it up here and we will have a crack at that instead !

See you in the morning

  • Sounds good...I'm looking forward to a club ride after a couple of weeks off. Having missed last week's conversation, I'm struggling to picture the bacon flap. I can't work out if the bacon's cooked or not? I guess I'll wait and find out!

David - at some point could we work some of the new TT course into a club run? That would be really helpful for people like me who have no idea what people are talking about, before I get set loose on my own for Hardriders.
  • Should be there and I promise not to use the "P" word!!
  • Looking forward to it! See you in the morning :)

Fourteen of us out this morning for the advertised ride. But of a dodgy start as the heavens opened in Bassingbourn to release some sideways icy rain. Delightful ! Luckily it blew through quite quickly & the weather improved as we got towards Caxton and the sun finally broke through just before Croyden - hurrah!

Tasty tailwind was replaced by a pretty fresh headwind the closer we got to Ashwell, so big shout out to DaveW and Toma for their sterling efforts on the front. Also picked up Carmelo on the run in, who decided a slog into the wind was much better in a big group. No sprint today, headwind stopped play!

So 40 miles (or to be exact just a tiny fraction under) @ 16. All agreed route was tougher than expected! Also pleased to report that the bacon flap was a work of genius. Worked a treat by all accounts. No mention of the P word by mystic Vic either so we escaped without any tyre problems. He did mention snow a few times though which could be a bad omen.......

Thanks all for a great ride. More of the same next week.
