The cyclist involved in the accident was on a Royston Cycling Club ride and so other RCC riders were on hand to assist and call the emergency services. In the event the rider's injuries though serious were not as severe as had been feared but it was reassuring to see the scale of the medical response.
Everyone at the Club would like to thank all the police and medical teams who attended and also the lady cyclist who stopped to help and was able to provide an emergency blanket.
Like to echo Andy's comments - hope the lady involved recovers quickly.
So many near misses...equally concerning.
What can we do as a local cycling community to try and change attitudes to cyclists?
All road users need to treat each other with respect.
