    Got in the mood for tomorrow's ride and Paris Roubaix with an afternoon ride in the pothole strewn Herts lanes

    Hitchin, Graveley, Warren Green, Halls Green, Cromer, Ardeley, Wood End, Mundens, Nasty, Cherry Green, Buntingford, Throcking, Southern Green, Rushden, Wallington, Baldock, Willian, Hitchin.

    36 miles @ leisurely 15mph. Some shocking roads out there, safely negotiated with steel bike & 28mm GP 4 Seasons.

    More tomorrow.

    Nice to not do the route for a change

    Made to suffer by the Cap'n

    Was pedalling squares up the hills, not much better downhill. Cool wind hurt on the way out.

    Except the tailwind off the escarpment from Therfield down to Odsey, where we reached 40mph and ran out of gears!

    Good trundle in the sunshine.

    Ashwell, Rushden, Throcking, Buntingford, Wydial, Anstey, Nuthampstead, Barkway, Reed, Therfield, Ashwell.

    Tea in the garden afterwards, ta.

    Now need to lose some winter pounds and get fitter!
