edited January 2010 in Club runs
Might be back to the 60m hilly route if we can avoid the snow and enjoy the sun.

    As there doesn't seem to be any other saturday groups out, I was thinking of going for a bit of your ride and then falling off the back to do some slower riding on my own. Would that be ok?
  • there is the normal saturday group leaving at 9.30 from 37 silver street...........
  • Ok thanks, I'll do that one then.
  • So there's a Sunday club run starting at 09:30, a Sunday 'Nasty' albeit a steady nasty starting at 09:00, a Saturday middle at 09:30 and not I think (hope) 08:30 as in title of thread.
    Dependent on weather I'll be at 37 at 09:30 Sat or Cem at 09:00 Sun.

    Cheers
  • kevin.the sat.middle is usually at 8.30 ...not a typo..... and does about 60 miles

    the 9.30 Sat. is a mixed group of different levels and sometimes splits into a shorter and longer ride..speed varies according to those on the ride....probably averages 15mph
  • Hi Robbie

    I fancy the Saturday run. Where do you meet?
  • Club ride details? Seems all well explained on the club website;
    http://www.ccashwell.com/club-runs.html

    Robbie - yep - up for it. It'd be good to catch up with Adam too. We meet at the cemetery car park now, next to the Ashwell garage we used to meet at. Literally a stone's throw.
    Currently without a decent rear wheel [getting sorted at Trisprouts] but will either get by with knackered old one or find a kindly soul to lend.

    Fancy mixing the classic route up a little bit? I could have a look.
  • Smashing - I know where you mean.

    Good luck with the wheel repair, Martin. See you Sat.

  • Mart. I've got a 9 speed Shimano Ultegra 12 -25 you can borrow. Txt if you need it.
  • I'll be comming allong, though would be interested in knowing the rough route to see if I can break off at the end (not been on the bike for a few week) probably drive over if not.

    Hiya Sam

    This is the basic ride I know Robbie has in mind;

    Going clockwise.

    We've done it before where some have broken off at Whitwell, to Wymondley and then on.
    Poor weather forecast again - so don't think any of us out to break any records... All about keeping the legs turning. I don't think you'll have any problems!
    On the flipside, if it's OK, I fancy a diversion to the edge of Luton airport landing strip for a Wayne's World moment.

  • Thanks Geoff

    I'll attempt the 08:30 Saturday then, so I'll probably drive over, is there ample parking close to 37 ?
  • Ha ah, just looked at the route so I'll probably pick you up at Baldock at the lights or next roundabout.
  • It's looking cloudy, but neither very cold nor windy.
  • kevin. maybe you ride backwards on the route towards Wallington then we can't miss you.
    my 'bike mobile number' is : 07812 481089
  • See you in the morning chaps.
  • Another good slog of a hilly ride for the 8 of us. Nice one chaps.
  • Tough going but top fun - the standard was high! Me, Robbie, Sam, Malcolm, Chris, Kevin, Adam and Jon S. 1 puncture, 2 mudguard malfunctions. A shade under 17mph.
  • Good ride, lads.

    Sorry about the exploding mudguard, and thanks to Sam for the workaround.
