Sunday 09.30
Ahoy Pirates past
There has been a sighting, can it be
Of a great captain, lost at sea
His ghost appeared, wanted to play
All dressed in green, it's CTJ
flat route he cries, to make my day
It's no joke, I say, I say
Pirate past laments, bringing visions anew
will sit on the back and not come through
Songs are made, of the strong and bold
Here's to new stories, as yet un told
See you Sunday

2 commutes into London's West End from Hitchin for me this week. 5am starts but still manic traffic the last 10 miles.
Hitchin Codicote Welwyn Digswell Bayford Cuffley Enfield Green Lanes Hornsey Finsbury Park Holloway Kings X Soho St James's.
42 miles @ 15mph. Bit hilly around Bayford, Cuffley Camp area!
See you Sunday for CTJ's resurrection.
The Commuting Dutchman
Keep a watch out for this fella on Ashwell High Street:
Cut Throat Jake - Captain Pugwash's fearsome arch-enemy, captain of the Flying Dustman (a pun on the Flying Dutchman combined with a reference to the occupation of dustman). When he is not scheming to bring about Pugwash's downfall, he is a rather more competent pirate than his enemy, and always seems to have plenty of treasure. He speaks with a stereotypical West Country accent, and is easily recognisable by his eye patch and enormous black beard.
The Flying Dustman
All aboard the Black & Green Pig for fun Sunday sailing
Pull on your ropes and be prepared to sing the blues me hearties
Dutchie
CTJ is but a Nautical nitwit.
Not a brave Buccaneer like some
But welcome to me Blistering barnacles
Route adapted for his lack of sea legs
CP
Make him walk the plank and keel haul him.
Odsey to Sandon or Litlington to Therfield then around Barkway, Barley, Gt Chishill, Heydon Grange.
Or due south to Pirton then Sharpenhoe Clappers then Sundon Loop and up Hexton Hill to Lilley's Bottom, old Knobworth, Walkern etc.
He'll be OK after that little lot.

Surely Cap'n you mean:
Billions of billious barbecued blue blistering barnacles!
The Flailing Haddock
A true Heartless Pirate

Option to add on more for those wanting it
I am happy to take CTJ back
So wrestlingworth, abbotsley , little gransden then split

Straight on to Kingston, eversden for those wanting 45 miles
Beautiful day tomorrow

CP
Will ride over tomorrow morning from Hitchin
A shorter route agreed to stop Jake from bitchin'
To get on the front no doubt he'll be itching
Or dropped out of the back will he be ditching?
Heartless Dutchman

Fashion Dutchman
Good fun crusing in the sun
32 miles at 16 mph on a totally flat route
Good maiden voyage from CTJ
The bells ringing on route
The horizon calls
see you next week
CP
10 out in the sun for banter and fun
Nice and steady for Jake's return
The Abbotsley Bore (like the Severn, not the village dullard) followed John R's comfort break
Loose headset for CTJ rattled his skull and crossbones
Plenty of moaning, but that's a good sign on board the pig
Coffee and laughs in the Cap'n's cabin afterwards, better coffee after George arrived with 'savings' galore.
Great fun as always.
Off next week to Darzet, so back the Sunday after next.
Portland Bill
I believe they serve cider.
Just cycle there
In which case I can have five a day as part of a recommended diet.
Looking forward to a healthy holiday

Another Hitchin to London West End commute today.
Out the door for 5am and in the office for 8am after 45 lovely miles in the sunshine.
Now managing to avoid a lot of the traffic hot spots and good use of London's cycle ways.
Really enjoying these commutes.

All this secret training !
I am a zider drinker, I drink it all of the day
Wurzelled
A balanced approach to training:
Zider, plenty of carbs and lots of miles.
The diet of champions. I may give lessons.
