Flat route, out into the expected breeze, blown back. Coffee break by the river in St Ives. Sunshine, a warm welcome and laughs guaranteed. No one left behind. All welcome, just bring a sense of humour. Inflatable crafts not required on this journey near the Ouse.
As I was going to St. Ives I met a man with seven wives, Each wife had seven sacks, each sack had seven cats, Each cat had seven kits: kits, cats, sacks and wives, How many were going to St Ives?
Bring sun tan lotion and money for coffee break and 'rehydration' drinks in 3 Tuns post ride.
You sunburnt sicklemen, of August weary,
Come hither from the furrow and be merry:
Make holiday; your rye-straw hats put on
And these fresh nymphs encounter every one.
Ears perked up at "combining the two" ... archery and cycling?
People do "Field Target" archery where you hike through the woods and loose arrows at plastic targets at unknown distances ... a mountain bike version done for time would be fun, like archery/bike biathlon! Sweet!
Welcome coffee and cake at the River Tea Rooms in St Ives by the old bridge on the languid River Ouse.
Blast along the guided busway before heading into the headwind return.
It all went a big Pete Tong for me as The Man With The Hammer came a calling. Strong riding on the front by Nathan, Dom, Jeremy and new 3rd cat Jane - thanks folks for hauling me home!
Feeling a lot better now after a shower, quick nap, several pints of water (yes, really!) and mugs of tea.
Good to see you all again and thanks for your excellent company
Thanks All, especially to John for navigating us to a v nice café
Now dreaming about a spot of archery whilst riding a bike. Bit like shooting arrows from a galloping horse ... thing is, a horse can steer itself and stay upright. My bike's good, but probably not that good

Weather looks absolutely fabulous for Friday.
I prefer Roald Dahl's version
Wind now expected to be from the SW, so harder coming back, but sunshine ALL the way!
Meet outside 3 Tuns. 9am.
We can put you and Jeremy on the front and pull us along! :-)
Two bridges of sorts, 9 out, 35miles @ 17.8mph! Tasty.
Thanks all for the ride.
John

Suggestion:
Old TT loop, shoot 6 arrows (off bike) x 3 loops, deducting your archery score at a rate of 1 minute per point, shooting a metric face at 50 metres.
