Saturday 8th October 9.30am club ride

Tomorrow looks like its going to have a definite autumn nip about it.

So how about maybe a last summer length ride:

Ashwell-Marston Moretaine-Cotton End-Southhill-Ashwell (48 miles)

or the slightly shorter classic Saturday reverse two bridges route

Ashwell-Old Warden-Cardington-Cople-Mogerhanger-Everton-Eyeworth-Ashwell (or something similar ! (40ish miles))

Decide in the morning, much like how many layers to wear ;)

  • Well yet again the BBC weather forcast failed to predict any of yesterday morning's at times dismal weather !

8 of us set off in a dry weather window that lasted for about 5 minutes out of Ashwell before we seemed to be riding in a large moisture filled cloud. As both routes headed off towards Haynes we headed there and then decided that the ride to Stewartby should always be sunny so plumped for the reverse two bridges instead. So out to Cardington and then on to mysteriously dry Bedfordshire roads and even a bit of sunshine !

Extra bonus of station loop gave us a final tally of 42 miles @ 17. Felt much harder than it did only a month ago, the joys of Autumn !! Thanks all for a great morning.
