Wins for JMac, Jackie and Ashwell women in the N&DCA 2016 points competition
Back on 1st October James McKenzie won the final event of the 2016 N&DCA series (nc14 middleton) in the Masters Y category. He had to win to claim 1st place in the season long points competition - and it sounds like it was a pretty tense race. With his wife Roz giving him time checks on his main rival Pete Trotman he was 10 seconds up after lap 1 and going well.
Then with Pete already finished there was a huge downpour for JMac's last 3 miles, but he hung on to win by 8 seconds (just like LeMond over Fignon in Paris in 89... )
James and Pete both finish on 4 wins and 2 seconds (6 to count from 10) so the Trophy will be shared.
Janet also rode and won the women's race on the day, and also qualified Ashwell women for the season long team competition with 11 rides - which they won easily with qualifying rides from Jackie, Emma, Jenny and Janet.
