Saturday 5th November 9.30am club ride

Well who would have thought it just one week we could go from summer to winter - rubbish !

Cold NW wind forecast for tomorrow, so SE would be a good direction to go I recon as it's potentially more sheltered. How about

Ashwell-Therfield-Barkway-Lincoln Hill-Puckeridge-Westmill-Buntingford-Sandon-Ashwell (38 miles)

Must also remember that its going to take an extra 10 mins to get ready with all the multiple extra layers and overshoes :(

See you in the morning

And that's after actually having decided what combination to wear...but I think we can at least rule out the shorts option this week!

Looking forward to first outing on newly built from scratch winter bike - hopefully won't collapse under me...

    Edit

Yeah won't be able to make it home in time to get to work, have a nice ride
  • I'll be out, will meet you in Therfield, I guess you should be there just before 10 am
  • Dave and I won't be out tomorrow, both getting over the lurgy and are going to save the lungs for Sunday. Hope to see a nice bit of friendly '9.30' competition at the hill climb! I'll be out for a short ride in the general Puckeridge direction on Sat so I'll keep an eye out for you all.

Just six hardy/foolish chaps out on Saturday to brave the drizzle/cold/wind. Definitely no shorts this weekend, many, many layers were needed instead !

Followed route above pretty much to the letter, even managed to pick up Alan at 9.59am :) Lovely route down to Puckeridge, rolling roads and easy riding. Turns out that was something to do with the rather fresh tailwind we had....... So return was, urm character building to say the least & I was wrong - there was no shelter from it!

Four left at Sandon, so just myself and Simon crawled down the slip end road to give the first ever Saturday 'sprint' dead heat & probably the slowest in CCA history.

So 38 miles @ 16. Not quite ready for winter yet though, so can we have autumn back next week???
