Sophie Lewis and Adam Lightfoot were racing on Thursday evening at the London velodrome in the third round of LYTL. Sophie continued to demonstrate her impressive strength and speed winning the 4 lap dash, elimination race and points race. She was second in the 20 lap scratch race but won the prime so ended the night only 1 point off the maximum that could be scored. She really has justified her place on the Olympic Development Squad which she was selected for last month.
Adam also showed some real skill with great attacking rides. He spent 4 laps off the front on his own in the scratch race but paid the price when he got caught by the pack just before the end. He still managed a respectable 11th. He was 11th in the dash but picked up to finish 6th in the long elimination race. I'm sorry to say we did not stay for his last race so I am not sure how he did in the points race.
