Saturday 28th Jan 9.30am club ride

No ice tomorrow - hurrah - so back to a std 9.30 start. If nobody mentions the R word, we might even get away with it being precipitation free....

How about just the classic two bridges 'reverse' route. Mainly flat except for the Everton hillock ;)

Ashwell-langford/Henlow-Ireland-Cople-mogerhanger-tempsford-everton-potton-sutton-westlingworth-Ashwell (40 miles). I've even mapped the correct route after only oooooh 8 years :)

Great turnout this morning for the reverse two bridges. Bit of a dodgy, drizzly start but luckily nobody mentioned the R word so the rain stopped & the sun came out.

Followed the route above to the letter & with a brisk pace from the off. Definately a day for mud flaps though as we all looked we had cycled across a field after about 10 miles! An excellent banana stop in the sunshine just outside mogahanger was followed by a not so excellent 15 minute level crossing to train spot inter cities on the east coast mainline. Still, it was sunny so more time to soak up some rays & top up the vitamin D so not all bad :)

Up Everton hill and then back via Sutton where we caught a bit of a headwind and did some pro style echelons. it was at this point, just outside Wrestlingworth that my legs gave up & I saw the blue/red/black/flouro yellow peloton dissapear into the distance......

So, 40 miles at about 16.5, followed by some caffeine and sugar in the Tuns to get me back over the hills to Baldock. Thanks all for a fun morning, I'll bring some working limbs next week !!
