Welcome to the forum
Saturday 1st April 9.30am club ride
More spring riding tomorrow, light winds and maybe a bit of sunshine - lovely
So how about something a bit more rolling than last week: Ashwell-Barkway-Nuthamsted-Meesden-Lower Langley Green-Littlebury Green-Arkesden-Clavering-Gt Hornmead-Buntingford-Sandon-Ashwell (45 miles)

Also the option to go from Gt Hornmead to Lincoln Hill then back into Buntingford via Wydial, but this adds about an extra 4 miles so we shall see how we are going when we get there......
See you in the morning

After last week's bumper turnout, only 6 of us yesterday. Contrary to my forecast on Friday it was neither sunny or light winds, with pretty much wall to wall black clouds and a headwind for about 40 miles!
All set off for the above route, and 6 became 5 at Nuthampsted where Mark left us and 4 at Dudenhoe end where DaveA peeled off. The remaining 4 valiantly battled against the wind through Clavering and onto Buntingford and Sandon where 4 became 2 as Nathan and Tim headed back to Royston. So just out of principle myself and Gary fought our way back to Ashwell to complete the ride.
So 45 miles @ 16.5 & the conclusion that to improve my winter bike it needs a) carbon forks b) a carbon frame c) a carbon seat post and d)carbon wheels
Thanks all for a character building morning !!
