CRB Checks

edited February 2010 in General
Dear Colleagues,

I have organized a CRB session at my house on Thursday 11th March commencing at 7.30pm. Mark Wyer from British Cycling will be signing the forms off. We need individuals to go through this process to enable Youth members to participate in rides at the weekend.

The process involves completing a form, which looks a bit like a passport application form, and showing various ID documents to the authorised person, in this case Mark.

On the night you will need to bring with you a minimum of

a valid passport or driving licence
a P60 or P45 that shows your NI number
a recent utility bill in your name

In my long and sorry experience of the CRB process it is always better to bring more ID docs than required. Thus, if possible, you should bring: -

Driving Licence
Passport
P60 or P45
Recent Pay slip
Utility Bill
Birth or Marriage Certificate.

Please let me know if you intend to come on this date.

  • Would there be any cost to the individual wishing to have the CRB check?
  • no Peter..if you are doing this to help our go-ride sessions and help the coaches...the cost is covered by B.C.
  • If you are a Saturday or Sunday Club Rider who doesn’t mind occasionally chaperoning a Youth Rider, this is the process for you.

One of the club’s aim with youth riders is to encourage them to partake in club rides and activities at all levels, thereby ensuring the long term continuity of the club. Therefore the more people we can get Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked the better we are able to share the workload.

Please therefore come forward and sign up on 11/3/10.

  • Cheers Richard
Do we need to renew if we did it last year?
  • No Martin.........you are fine
  • Richard

I have full CRB clearance as a supply teacher - I'd like to get more involved in the mentoring side of things. Is this adequate? Do you need to see / take a copy of my CRB document?
  • the rules are changing Jeremy......I think however you are still required to get one through British cycling...no cost....be at Richards on 11th March with all bits of paper......very welcome and thank you
  • Reminder: -

This Thursday at my house for CRB checks.

This isn't just for coaches but anyone who would be willing to help the Youth Section members bridge the gap onto the adult rides by chaperoning them around on the club run every now and then. The more people we get done the more we can share the duties.
