Welwyn PT 16 July - request for marshals
Following received from WW in case anyone can help.
Dear Sir/Madam,
On 16 July, Welwyn Wheelers will be promoting the Welwyn Petit Tour: closed-road circuit racing in the centre of Welwyn Garden City. This event is a organised in partnership with Kinetic Cycles and Herts County Council.
To deliver an event on this scale we are going to need a small army (60+) of marshals, more than we are able to muster from within the club.
So I write with a request: would your club or organisation be able to provide any additional marshalls to us for the a part of the day? Any assistance - even just one or two names - would be hugely welcome.
Marshalling will be not be onerous (primarily manning pedestrian crossings during races): marshals will be required from 9:30am to 6pm but will be organised in at least two shifts, and refreshments for marshals will be provided. If you have members participating in races on the day, perhaps their accompanying family or friends would be prepared to volunteer? Any assistance for clear-down (6-7pm) will also be very welcome.
Please respond to welwynwheelers@gmail.com or chair@welwynwheelers.org.uk, with volunteer names, mobile number, email and preferred time slots.
Many thanks in advance,
Andrew Brown,
Chair, Welwyn Wheelers CC
