Saturday 26th August 9.30am club ride

edited August 2017 in Club runs
Hurrah, at last a Saturday morning forecast without a howling westerly !!

Clearly we need to take fully advantage of this. So how about we go East & do a slightly longer route with a mid ride coffee stop at the excellent Clavering Lakes. I'll see if its possible to get a slice of cake bigger than the ginormous one I had last time :)

See you in the morning, don't forget your cake money !

Nine out yesterday morning for the spin to Saffron Walden & back. Remarkably the forecast was right and there was indeed warm with no wind :)

As normal, sort of followed the route above & stopped mid ride for some excellent toffe sponge cake at Clavering Lakes :) And in answer to the important question on cake slice size, not as large as last time but still and excellent slab !

So suitably fuelled we pressed on through a super busy Saffron Walden & back via Great Chishill all towed along by Nathan with giant Ian Stanard esc turn on the front. Then it was down from Therfield and a wind up down station road, once we eventually managed to cross the extremly busy 505. Maybe everybody had evacuated Saffron Walden ???

So 57 miles @ 17 - (not sure where the extra 3 miles came from)

Thanks all for an excellent Sat BH morning!
