VTTA National 25
This I think was a re run of the mens race that was cancelled a while back but was also open to women.
Held on the E2 very early this morning. (6.30 for the first off) in ideal conditions.
Jackie was off at 7.37 amongst a smallish group of women starters. She was just looking for a good time as she was not sure of the status of women in the race. She had a great ride coming in with a new PB by 50 seconds of 54.50. She was +19.05 on standard which got her 5th place. If an advert is needed for the health benefits of cycling you need to look at the 1st and 2nd place in this competition which were taken by an 87 year old and a 74 year old. The 74 year old came in with 55.12!!!!!
Jackie won the ladies event but also made it on to the top step of the podium with the 87 year old and a CCC rider as part of the East Anglia region group.
