'VICTORIA', a talk by Max Pendleton, Tues 7 Nov 8pm, Bushel & Strike
Hi all
I've managed to arrange a 'special' for November's Club night...
VICTORIA
A Q&A with Max Pendleton
Tuesday 7th November 2017, 8pm
Venue [TBC depending on turnout]
Add your name[s] here;

All CC Ashwell members and friends are welcome to an evening Q&A with Max Pendleton, father of multi-Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendleton.
This will be an informal and relaxed insight into one of the most exciting chapters of major British cycling achievement, from her father's perspective. All the way from Victoria's early days, to the grass track, to the hard track and finally to the biggest podium of them all!
This promises to be a unique and special evening. There will be limits to the number of people we can accommodate, so please place your name here on the list if you would like to attend. Please only put your name down if you are quite certain you can attend. And please remove your name if you can't make it.
The Q&A is free. All we ask is that you come prepared with a question or two. Or, submit them beforehand to Martin if you're too shy - martin@ccashwell.com . Apologies in advance if your question doesn't make the evening.
We will confirm the venue once we have an idea on numbers. We expect the evening would run for 1-1.5hrs.

Just bringing this to the top of the forum. Likely Max's talk will be in the Bushel & Strike back room. But needs confirming. Will keep you posted. In the meantime, if you fancy this talk; put your name down. Add your name[s] here;

While I'm here... October Club night is Tuesday coming, 3rd Oct @ Three Tuns, from around 8pm. I believe there will be Endura kit samples to try out ahead of an order.
It would be nice to hear a few Pyrenean tales too...
And October will also see the CCA CX race, and the IC Hill Climb - both 8th Oct. So plenty to chat about. See you there.
It can seat 60, so plenty of room: but please put your name down so we know turn out. Not least as I might arrange some cheese/cracker action.

I'll see if the Club can fund some nibbles.

So, this talk is just a few days away. Do add your name to the Doodle poll so I have a rough idea on how many chairs to put out. But, it's totally fine just to turn up on the evening if you can make it last-minute, as we are well within the health & safety on numbers.
8pm start, Bushel & Strike, Ashwell.

Looking forward to it.
A reminder... this brilliant, free chance to get insights on the making of a multi-gold winning Olympian is at the back of t'pub this Tuesday. Bushel & Strike back room, next to the big church tower in Ashwell.
All members, family and friends welcome. We'll kick off at 8pm.
Kit will be there for sale - and I've just found a bag full of Ashwell-Wells Classic 2017 badges, if you missed out and want to pick yours up.
I'll arrange a few nibbles - but don't expect the Ritz.
We're in the back room.
All welcome. See you there.
Thanks too for everyone who made it down to the Bushel through grotty weather, and asked questions.
Max has accepted my suggestion to do another Club Night in Spring 2018, this time all about Max himself. The things he's achieved on the grass track and hill climbs etc; sharing tips and giving advice. So that will be great too.
Max and Sandra have also just signed up as 1st claim CCA members.
Final club night of 2017 (and good opportunity to get some CCA kit under the Christmas tree) is Tues 5th Dec. Cheers.
Max and Sandra seemed keen to join the upcoming CCA trip to the European Grass Track Championships in France.
