From the Ambleside outing this summer.
"Now in its 131st first year, Rydal Sports Day attracts runners, riders, wrestlers and hound owners from across the county and beyond now it seems. There were some "imposters" this year from Cycle Club Ashwell, Hertfordshire, who rode off with most of the top honours in the grass track races. No matter, the traditional sports of fell running, hound trailing / racing, Westmoreland and Cumberland wrestling plus more familiar short-track running races, namely the 60m, 100m, 400m, sack-race and others continued uninterrupted by these usurpers. Plans are afoot to swamp and dominate the grass track cycle races in 2018 by CCA, only time will tell."
