Welcome to the forum

Thanks

Just wanted to say thanks tor helping me deal with my puncture this morning. It's all very well being strong on a bike, but nothing beats a team effort as far as I'm concerned :)

I got home without incident, but have since discovered a gash in the sidewall. Not visible until it's inflated, at which point, inner tube bulges through ... and I'm feeling quite lucky that it survived those homeward descents. The lesson for me is to double check for sidewall tears - after it's inflated

  • Impressive timing to meet us as we traveled up “ post office “ hill.
Good group of 15 I think.

“ why are you not all at work” was the best pedestrian call out.

Glad got back ok. I take a cut small piece of tyre with me to repair on the road. And puncture repair patch on the inside can save your tyre when back most times. But sure you know all that.

Coffee stop. 54 miles back to Ashwell.
    See you all next week

  • So why aren't you at work?!
  • I checked my tyres when I got home - don’t know why as I don’t usually do this - but on the basis of last week & this I did. I found a hole in my side wall approx 10mm diameter & my tube bulging out. The Tyre is a Conti GP 4000 II only fitter in mid July! So I consider myself pretty lucky.
    Do check your tyres.......
  • Because we don’t work
  • We shall have cake
    ..... and eat it :-)
