Welcome to the forum
Volunteers needed for CCA events
There are 3 CCA events that need your events...
* * * * * * * * * CCA PRIMAVERA ROAD RACE, Sunday 23 May 2010 * * * * * * * * *
This year's CCA Primavera Road Race [open to 3rd/4th Cat riders, laps around Old Warden-Cardington] is on Sunday, May 23rd and your help is required.
We need marshals, helpers to set signage before the race, drivers for the commissaires and First Aid, lead cars etc (4 vehicles normally),caterers to do teas/coffees cakes etc, & signing on and licencing before the race. It is a fairly early start to the day, and all over by early afternoon. It's always a good team spirited event.
Can people please respond to the forum here to let us know if they can help & in what role. Carmelo & Trahern will then get in contact with them later to coordinate the team.
Contact trahern@ccashwell.com for more information.
This race is a major highlight in the Club's year. It's our opportunity to impress the region with how well we can run a key event in the Eastern Road Racing League [ERRL] like this. It also raises valuable funds for the Club - to protect its future.
Racers don't miss out on your opportunity to ride the event and get the Club's name up in lights on the podium too!

The Cycle Club Ashwell Biggleswade Grass Track Open, 10 July 2010
Dear Club member,
If you can help please contact Richard on richard@ccashwell.com
This event is set to take place on 10th July 2010 and will run between 13.00hrs and 18.00hrs approximately. We have taken over the running of this established event from the Fenland Clarion Cycle Club as part of the development of the Clubs Grass Track interests. The running of this event will require assistance from a number members for the roles described below. If you can spare some time on the day please let me know.
Setting Up
This usually commences at around 9.00am and will require a party of about 6-10 people, more if possible to mark out the track with pegs, the outer safety area with posts and tape, car parking and other areas. Im hoping that someone will take this on and organise a group to put it together. This group will therefore liase with various people who hold the equipment for the day.
Taking Down
Similarly taking down will need a group of organised people. Im hoping that all those present will be persuaded to take down and clear up but there will be some work to do back in Ashwell, putting equipment away etc.
Registration
Two to three people will be required to handle on the day registrations, parental consent and issuing of Day Licences.
Teas/Refreshments
Again, we require a team of people to run teas and refreshments on the day.
Race Judges
Fancy yourself as a finish line judge? This will require three people to judge finishes and appeals against bad riding.
If you can help please contact Richard on richard@ccashwell.com
There will be more updates and I guess a number of preparatory meetings at a pub in the village.

* * * * * * * * * CCA CLUB 10 MILE TIME TRIALS, 5 May Sept 2010 * * * * * * * * *
Its getting close to that time of year again, the club 10 starting Wednesday 5th May 7.00 PM.
I will put more details up as we get a bit nearer for those who wish to ride and who dont know the form, but for now this is a plea for help!! Last year worked really well with lots of different people helping run a night and i want to do the same thing this year...should be much easier as we have a lot of people who now know how to do it. Please put your name in the box on the left and tick a date if you can help, ive got the ball rolling by putting a few dates in. Ideally 2 people on each date works best as you have someone to hold up/marshal or in case of someone not being able to make it ,the event still happens. Im happy to run it on my own, so lets get 1 person for each date first.
Now that we are getting more racing interest I think this will be more successful than last year and is a key part of CCA activities, so lets make it happen. Hope you can help and even if its only 1 date, that would be brilliant.
Cheers
