Saturday 27th October 9.30am club ride

OMG it's going to be like winter tomorrow !! Have to dig out all those layers I put away sometime way back in May......

How about we do this autumn/winter classic - flat to start and lumpy to finish:

Ashwell-Shepreth-fowlmere-Elmdon-Langley-Anstey-Therfield-Ashwell (41 miles)

See you in the morning, don't forget the gloves and overshoes !

  • If anybody is up for doing a slighly shorter ride tomorrow let me know as I need to be back earlier than usual. Cheers, Ryan
  • Have a great ride, and make sure you all wrap up warm. We won't be out tomorrow, we'll be testing the climate up north where I hear it gets really cold!
  • Good luck in the nationals Dave and Jenny!
  • Ride of two halves yesterday - we got sunny and flippin’ freezing or cloudy, windy and flippin’ freezing !!

Still, we are clearly made of stern stuff on the Sat ride as there was twelve of us out to face the elements. Followed the route above so a nice flat warmup followed by some lumps and bumps and Essex, which are much harder when you are weighed down by many, many, layers !!

Back via Therfield and station road to give us bang on 40 miles @ 16

All good fun in a masochistic sort of way :) I’ll try to order something slightly warmer for next week.
