Saturday 22nd December 9.30am

Late posting today - been out on the bike enjoying the random warm(ish) weather.

How about for tomorrow we try and find some of those great roads around Elmdon that RichardN steered us round a few weeks ago.

So something like:

Ashwell-slip end-sandon-buckland-barkway-gt Chishill-littlebury green-back of Elmdon-Elmdon-shepreth-meldreth-bassingbourn-Ashwell

Santa hats and reindeer antlers optional !

See you in the morning

Eight of us out this morning for a festive spin round the herts/Cambs lanes. Cracking day for it too, mild and some lovely blue sky.

Cracked on with the route above, so out to Barkway via Sandon and on to Chishill before doing some of the less familiar roads around Icklton.

Stopped just outside Elmdon for Tim to pull a festive feast out of the rucksack he had been carrying around. Some excellent mince pies and a flask of mulled wine. All topped off with a selection of chocs that myself and Graham majiced up from our pockets. Probably the best lay-by stop we have ever had !

Suitably warmed and fueled we headed back to Ashwell via Shepreth and Bassingbourn which was a bit of a headwind slog even with the mince pie calories kicking in !

So 44 miles @ 15. Thanks chaps; great way to spend a December morning. Happy Christmas all :)
