Saturday 5th January 2019 - 9.30am club ride

Happy New year all !

Looks like we are going to be starting 2019 on a freezing note tomorrow - lots of layers required. Haven't done this route for a while so let's do the Kingston/Bourn loop as its pretty flat on some big(ish) roads

  • Happy New Year Dave. Not out tomorrow unfortunately, enjoy.
  • Eight of us out of Sat morning for a spin in the cold. Mind you, wasn't quite as cold as the forecast made out, so several of us had slightly over-layered ! Brisk pace from the off which was the theme for most of the ride. Some terrible roads on this route too - the Shepreth to Barrington road was just awful and should just be re-classified as a bridleway. The one mechanical, a broken front wheel spoke, also taught us that Castelli tops are not designed to carry front mudguards !

Bit of a deviation on the way back, so came over Sutton hill and back in by Eyeworth. Might as well start the year as we mean to go on by only roughly following the published route ;)

So 41 miles at a shade under 17 & some warming coffee in the Tuns post ride. Thanks all, enjoyed that.
