7th August Evening Club TT - Results and Handicap Standings *UPDATED WITH RACE REPORT*
With apologies for the delayed write-up...
A strong South-Westerly proved a difficult hurdle for many this evening with a head-wind home and just the one PB on the evening - by a solitary second. So Mr. Bard carried off the plaudits with the win in the Handicap. Money well spent on a new ride, methinks, with likely more to come. The rest of the Handicap scoring had a lopsided look, with a couple of the regular high scorers struggling to register a decent time against the PBs that they had pushed ever lower over the Season.
That said, Mr. Askew still placed second overall, but behind another eye-catching ride from Mr. Young. This week, Mr. Young followed his PB of 21.18 set two week's ago with another sub-22 ride. But whereas that ride was in hot, still conditions riding a rear disc wheel, this week he reverted to deep section wheels front-and-back. But a time of 21.50? In these blowy conditions? You could argue that this time was at least on a par with the earlier one. Chapeau!
Elsewhere in the Handicap comp, Mr. Marriage continued his recent run of good form as did Dr. Chitu, but both are running out of rides - just three to go now - to overhaul our leader. Dr. Chitu tied on time with Mr. Miles, but only Mr. Miles took home the mantel of the night's fastest Vet off standard.
Ms. Koppe continued her impressive run of Inter Club performances by winning the Ladies competition. And Young Master Ayers span to a respectable time as fastest Junior.
A skeleton staff of three, including Mr. Ayers Senior, ran the event this evening, so please consider signing up via the Doodle poll linked via the "Sticky" announcement at the top of the Forum so that we can continue to run the TT throughout the rest of the Summer.
