Saturday 19 June - 0900 - Heading to the Fens

For this weeks installment we are heading out to the flatlands that are NE of Ashwell, hoping to get a bit of a tailwind on the return leg.

The plan is to meet 0900 at the 3 Tuns, 0905 depart.

Route options below each with a stop 60 - 65km. 5 Miles from Anywhere PH, Upware or Apex Cafe, Witchford. The pub does not open till 1100, which works if we stick keep below 30kph (18.6mph) on the outward leg.

6 out this morning, heading east in to the murk and drizzle, which was not forecast. Taff turned round at Bassingborne, still easing his back in to riding, but great to see you.

The rest then pressed on and made it to the 5 miles from anywhere PH about 1115 where some enjoyed a full English and others went continental with apple waffles and ice cream.

Then on to the return leg with the waffle fuelled riders setting a cracking average speed boosting pace (clearly it was all the sugar).

We split up at Potton with the riders heading home.
